Laser-Guided Karma: Near the end of Volume 4, Edward tries to assume the throne after the death of the king and massive flooding. The Church: The religious authority in Tasmenia is the Church of Daryl. It's very similar to Catholicism, except that priests are allowed to have families and the Pope Position is hereditary. The latter has changed after the current Pope and other higher ranking priests were charged with stealing funds from the church.When Bern apologizes to Iris, she doesn't really respond much at first. He presses her on it to make her aware of his sincerity and she eventually accepts it, but says she can't forgive him yet.
