STEP 1: Place Blepha EyeBag® in a microwave as described above and heat according to the power of your microwave as shown below: The MGDRx EyeBag ® (The Eyebag Company, Halifax, UK) is a reusable silk and cotton mask that can be heated in a microwave for 40 s. Peak temperatures (37.6 °C) may be reached after 2 min of its application on the external upper eyelids. After 12 min of treatment, temperatures may slightly decrease (36.8 °C) [ 16, 17]. In both dry eye and blepharitis, the glands that secrete oily moisture to the surface of the eyes are clogged and inflamed. This is known as meibomian gland dysfunction, or MGD.
