About this deal

Ricoh has included Highlight-weighted metering the GR3 and it’s kind of a big deal. Basically, it’s an AE mode that exposes for the highlights and prevents them from blowing out in high contrast scenes like we often see on the street.

Moving beyond geometry—because, yes, geometry is just the beginning—we enter into another defining element of the Argonaut custom build process layup. Whether applied to one of our proven geometries, or a geometry built for your unique body shape, riding style, and needs, layup is how we merge art and technology to yield bicycles that redefine custom.Hi bill yes your right and thanks for reminding me to remember lol (only kidding) i agree with you of course but i just think sometimes all those variables just force the issue that if your trying to recreate something particular for yourself its ok to use the artist in yourself to interpret the model in the way it is special to you. The limited-edition kit also includes a matching brown leather handstrap and a bleached sailcloth case with brown leather accents that match the handstrap.

It means a patented molding process we’ve developed over years, enabling us to untether from the kinds of angle, headtube length, and chainstay restrictions other bike manufacturers have to adhere to. It means realizing the true potential of carbon. I have also seen advice on colours similar to that given above in several places. I bought Xtracrylix RAF dark green/dark sea grey/light aircraft grey to paint my Hasegawa 1/72 GR1. These colours are very sombre looking but do seem to be a fairly good match with one of the Lightnings at the cold war jets collection at Bruntingthorpe aerodrome. I would say that the photos and film I have seen of GR1s show slightly more cheerful colours but that is only a relatively small discrepancy compared to the variance between these shades and those seen in many of the images of later aircraft such as the GR3. There is a film on YouTube of a day at RAF Gutersloh in 1989 and various photos around or if you have "Harrier Inside and Out" which is an excellent book and look at p20 you will see a green which is much warmer, almost a brown/green colour, and a grey which has a distinct blue tint. As far as I can tell this was a more prevalent colour scheme than the one reproduced by Xtracrylix in their model paints. There is also a Buccaneer at Bruntingthorpe that looks like it hasn't been painted for a while and now presumably by the action of UV light it just appears to be brown and blue, not green and grey at all, thus emphasising the presence of these in the original paintjob. So my obvious question is are there model paints that replicate this scheme and if so what are they? Thanks again for pointing out the gaffe. Shows again the importance of evidence from official and reliable sources - which I try to use whenever I can! Further to Graham Boak's post above; There was a colour photo on the front of an old Airfix magazine(ca.1978ish) showing an RAF Jaguar immediately in front of an RAF Vulcan. Now the latter was in the standasrd MSG and Dark Green with LACG underside, and the Jag in standard DSG and Dark Green wraparound. Convention says that the greens on both machines would be BS381c241/641, but that on the Jag was a lot darker. Of course there are a lot of variables here, the Jag looked to be freshly painted and the Vulcan may well have faded. Likewise a look at any RAF Herk of that period would show a multitude of Dark Green (and Grey for that msatter) shades on the same airframe. Colours are given as a Standard, but from there on in it depends on the materials used, how it faded and its use...
