About this deal

Have you heard about a vegan Hobnob? This was something I was also very excited about. Needless to say, I was overjoyed to learn that McVities had released a gluten-free version of this classic biscuit. Yes, you can freeze the hob nobs. Please place them in a freezer-safe container or bag and store them for up to three months. When you're ready to enjoy them, let them thaw at room temperature for a few minutes before serving. You could also freeze the biscuit dough without baking it.

I've been a hobnob eater for years as well as a home cook/baker but for some reason never thought about making them. These are delicious. I subbed Lyle's golden syrup for honey since I'd seen several British recipes that used it. I reduced the amount of sugar by about 1/8th cup and added an extra pinch of salt. So good! My teenage son ate about 12 of them after dinner and I enjoyed mine with my morning cup of tea #anglophile. I love to use raw local honey for this recipe this is not vegan so use other sweeteners like, coconut blossom nectar, maple syrup, brown rice syrup or agave. These hobnobs are ten times better than the ones you can buy, which at the moment is a bonus because you might not be able to buy them 🙂 .

Hobnobs Ingredients

These were delicious. I don't know if they're like the real thing, but the English friend I made them for adored them.

Once the hob nobs have cooled completely, store them in an airtight container at room temperature. They should stay fresh for up to one week. If you prefer a crispier texture, leave the container open for a few hours before sealing it.The Mcvitie’s Chocolate Hobnobs are made with chocolate. We’ve been using them in our biscuits tin since then. However, according to Jane, they are low in nutritional value. This hobnob has 93 calories and contains 4.4 grams of fat and 6.1 grams of sugar per serving. I also made these biscuits using Hjorthornssal (a.k.a. Baker’s Ammonia) instead of the baking powder. It made even lighter, crisper biscuits but I know it’s a weird ingredient to find. I’m just letting ya know so if you happen to have some in your cupboard you can use it here! Can vegans eat dark chocolate digestives? If so, then how harmful are they for them? They have the legal right to do so. These biscuits contain vegan ingredients such as dark chocolate and wheat flour. Animals that have been fed them, such as milk and eggs, are not permitted to participate in this process. Even if there are dairy and animal products that could be found in dark chocolate, you can still tell if it’s vegan. Almost two-thirds of all chocolate sales are made up of chocolate, which is the most popular type of chocolate. These were a lovely cookie, although I gilded the lily a bit by adding some finely chopped pecans and flaked unsweetend coconut to the mix. They were a very BIG hit with my children! In a small bowl, melt the butter and golden syrup together in the microwave in 10 second intervals. Set aside to cool.

Crunchy, sweet oaty goodness – these homemade chocolate hobnobstastes so much better than the ones you buy in the shops!Hobnobs come in five varieties- original, chocolate chip, milk chocolate, dark chocolate and gluten-free. They’re probably one of the more popular biscuits here in the UK and you’ll find them in almost any shop you go into. Are Hobnobs vegan? Are hobnobs vegan? It’s a good question, and the answer depends on the type of hobnob you’re looking for. Traditional hobnobs contain milk and butter, so they’re not vegan. However, some manufacturers do offer vegan-friendly versions of the classic treat, which are made with vegan margarine instead of butter. If you’re looking for a vegan-friendly version of the beloved biscuit, it’s best to read the ingredients list and look for a vegan-friendly version. The Original and Chocolate Chip Hobnobs don’t have animal ingredients, so they’re technically vegan. Of course they’re in the top three, they’re Custard bloody Creams. They’ve been around longer than the world. You’ll find them at every birthday, wedding, funeral, job interview and subsequent job firing meeting because they’re always there for you. Custard Creams don’t ask for much. They just plod along in this godforsaken world, doing their best and encouraging you to do the same. Dip them in tea, eat them dry, do whatever the hell you want. Just be happy. Hobnobs comes from the verb hob nob, which means to mix socially, generally with people from a higher class, so you’ll have people who say “hobnob” over tea or a biscuit.
