About this deal

I would highly recommend Dermatica to anyone who cares about looking their best for as long as possible. This moisturizer provides effective, oil-free hydration without a greasy feel, it also smooths and helps improve skin texture. Ingredients Aqua, Glycerin, Squalane, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Shea Butter Ethyl Esters, Niacinamide, Disodium Cetearyl Sulfosuccinate, Panthenol, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Ceramide NP, Ceramide EOP, Ceramide AP, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Cholesterol, Phytosphingosine, Sodium Hydroxide, Carbomer, Xanthan Gum. I have been subscribed to their personalised treatments for over 2 years but I have never tried their over the counter products. For example, in case of AHA or BHA exfoliants, the right pH is super-duper important, and pH adjusters like sodium hydroxide are needed.

My Dermatica Skin Glow treatment actually includes 4% azelaic acid… I think many of the other personalised formulas do too! It works together with the active ingredients in your skincare routine to look after your overall skin health. The TL; DR version of HA is that it's a huge polymer (big molecule from repeated subunits) found in the skin that acts as a sponge helping the skin to hold onto water, being plump and elastic.

According to famous dermatologist, Leslie Baumann while tocopheryl acetate is more stable and has a longer shelf life, it’s also more poorly absorbed by the skin and may not have the same awesome photoprotective effects as pure Vit E. I’ve been learning about my skin from the pros at Dermalogica for the past few months and was given a sample of their newest moisturizer- New Stabilizing Repair Cream, a true game changer for my skin. Azelaic acid, with its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, is the perfect companion to tretinoin because it amplifies the effects of your retinoid while minimising irritation. It usually has to be neutralized with a base (such as sodium hydroxide) for the thickening to occur and it creates viscous, clear gels that also feel nice and non-tacky on the skin.An emollient and natural moisturizer that can be found also in the sebum (oily stuff our skin produces). Now the question is only this: If we put ceramides all over our face do they work as well as ceramides already naturally in our skin? Is proven to be effective in reducing blemishes, evening out skin tone and helping to improve lines and wrinkles. If you wanna become a real HA-and-the-skin expert you can read way more about the topic at hyaluronic acid (including penetration-questions, differences between high and low molecular weight versions and a bunch of references to scientific literature).
