About this deal

Darts paid tribute to 50s doo-wop, and Bill Withers and John Paul Young produced two of the most uplifting songs ever ('Lovely Day' and 'Love Is In The Air').

The first side closes with sophisticated Pop from Wings, before the peerless 'The Man With The Child In His Eyes' from Kate Bush. In the edit page, go to the 'Metadata' tab and add your Juno artist, label or release page for listeners to purchase your release / releases. If you were hoping for the single version of Kate Bush's 'Man with the Child in his Eyes' then you will be disappointed, it's the album version. The remainder of Disc 2 features some of the year’s biggest Pop-Rock songs including hits from Billy Joel, The Who, Elton John, and Justin Hayward’s ‘Forever Autumn’ from the massive ‘Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version Of The War Of The Worlds’ album.

The release is available in the usual formats, that is deluxe 4CD hardcover book (with 28-pages of track commentary and a quiz), 3LP coloured vinyl and then a standard 4CD set in an eight-panel card sleeve. It’s 1978, so naturally disco is embraced, with CD 3 focusing on songs from artists such as Chic, Tavares, Baccara, Sheila and B Devotion, The Three Degrees, Eruption, and Voyage. NOW Music is proud to present the next instalment in our ongoing 'Yearbook' series, 'NOW - Yearbook 1978' - 46 tracks on a 3LP set pressed on translucent pink vinyl - from a magical year in Pop!

As Always with compilations to fit more tracks on each side they have to reduce the volume levels of each track, which means some surface noise creeps in on quieter songs. Good track listings are good I wish that NOW put out there Vinyl in a box set to match the cd track listings. If you're younger you can find out what was successful before your time and if you're older you can enjoy a nostalgic wander down musical memory lane. Flipping over to Side Two, a stack of Pop classics from Bonnie Tyler, Clout and Suzi Quatro, before Rock-infused Pop from Billy Joel, Elton John, and the classic ‘(Don’t Fear) The Reaper’ from Blue Öyster Cult. The final disc is all about the Pop smashes of the year - opening with 'Denis' the chart breakthrough from Blondie, and two huge hits from the soundtrack to 'Grease' from Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta.

NOW Music is proud to present the next instalment in our ongoing ‘Yearbook’ series, NOW – Yearbook 1978; 46 tracks on a 3LP set pressed on translucent pink vinyl – from a magical year in Pop!
