About this deal

Focus transitions were free of false purple and greens (Longitudinal CA) and tree branches and power lines avoided purple fringing (Lateral CA). The Nikon Z 24-120mm f/4 S's focal range provides an angle of view of 20° 20' at 24mm and 84° at 120mm. S lenses (surely a popular three-lens kit), you’ll find that each one of the lenses has a different arrangement of their zoom/focus/control rings. Its constant f/4 aperture provides consistent exposure across the zoom range and contributes to a compact design. No deposit is required and payments will be collected by direct debit in monthly instalments, the first instalment being collected 30 days after shipment of the product.

I am quite unfamiliar hands on with this Z 24-120 F4 Lens Type, all F Mount Wides used are Prime up to 135mm, with the 70-200mm F4 as a regularly mounted lens on a DSLR. It depends on your situation, so I’ll put it this way: To improve upon the 24-120mm f/4 S in any particular area, you need to compromise somewhere. However, after a few months of using it as a walkabout lens for street and cityscape photography, I did wish I had a longer focal range. The Nikon Nikkor Z 24-120mm F4 S provides excellent optical performance for detailed images with defocused backgrounds and focused close-ups for macros. That said, it could be better in terms of vignetting, chromatic aberration, and distortion – all of which are correctable in post-processing, but not without introducing minor artifacts. With a lightweight build, advanced optics, and a broad zoom range, the NIKKOR Z 24-120mm f/4 S makes a superb walkaround travel lens. The next page of this review has some additional sample photos from the Nikon Z 24-120mm f/4 S under a variety of photographic situations. Nikon kept down the Z 24-120mm f/4 S’s weight pretty well, even though it’s not the lightest zoom in their lineup.

My question is, for anyone who owns both lenses, how does the image quality change between the two lenses? It has the same controls, such as L-fn, and function ring (useless), as well as the focus and zoom rings. The big knock on wide to tele zooms has always been that at the widest and longest focal lengths, image sharpness falls off considerably. Nikon has no shortage of standard zoom lenses for its Z mirrorless camera system, with a half dozen in its catalog.
